RALEIGH, NC – February 14, 2023 – Raleigh, North Carolina-based Hatteras Investment Partners announced today that it has purchased Gondola Capital, according to Hatteras CEO and Co-Founder, David B. Perkins. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Gondola was founded in 2019 by Michael Lee and Casey Brunner to provide strategic advisory and placement agent services to alternative investment managers with an emphasis on crypto and decentralized finance. Since its formation, Gondola has been engaged as lead advisor on over 15 mandates, including primary fundraises, co-investments, direct private equity placements, and broader strategic consulting services.
“When forming Gondola back in 2019, our goal was to partner with world class general partners to provide them with a more strategic alternative to legacy capital formation options, while also offering limited partners across the RIA, family office, and institutional investment space access to leading alternative investment managers in nascent growth categories such as crypto, web3, and decentralized finance. Over the past four years this opportunity has grown more than we initially anticipated, and we are thrilled to join Hatteras to expand upon our initial vision for new and existing clients,” said Lee.
In addition, Hatteras will look to broaden our relationship with limited partners to meet their growing need for access to a wider selection of alternative investments, by forming the internal division, Hatteras Private Funds Group,”
